Artist Bio

Whitney Houston was a celebrated singer and actress from Newark, New Jersey, who started releasing music in the mid-1980s after signing with Arista Records. Known for her blend of pop, R&B, and gospel, she delivered numerous chart-topping hits like “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and her voice became one of the most recognized in modern music. With six Grammys and a record-setting run of consecutive number-one singles, Houston also gained recognition through film soundtracks and collaborations with artists including Mariah Carey and Aretha Franklin. Her influence can be heard in the works of artists like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Toni Braxton.
