Review

I'm absolutely in love with 'Power, Corruption & Lies' - it's where New Order really found their groove and stepped out of Joy Division's shadow. The way they blend their post-punk roots with electronic dance influences from Kraftwerk and Giorgio Moroder is just brilliant. 'Age of Consent' starts with that driving bass line that pulls you right in, while tracks like 'Your Silent Face' show their more contemplative side. I find myself coming back to this album whenever I need something that feels both nostalgic and somehow still fresh.

What really strikes me about this album is how forward-thinking it was for 1983. The band produced it themselves, which gave them freedom to experiment and create something genuinely innovative. Even though their massive hit 'Blue Monday' wasn't included on the original album, the collection still feels complete and coherent. Peter Saville's gorgeous cover art perfectly complements the music - cryptic, artistic, and completely unforgettable. This album didn't just define New Order's sound; it helped reshape alternative music for years to come. - Sienna
