Review
Let's talk about Babymonster's debut album "DRIP"! This South Korean girl group really came out swinging with their first full-length release. It's a mix of hip hop, R&B, and pop that shows off their range as artists. I've got to say, I was pretty impressed by how they jumped from style to style throughout the album.
The title track "Drip" is co-composed by G-Dragon from BigBang, which is pretty cool. It's got this danceable hip hop vibe that's meant to show off their confident side. Some people think it comes across as a bit forced, but hey, they're new to the game and still finding their footing. I actually really enjoyed some of the other tracks on the album, like "Love, Maybe" - it's this sweet, stripped-back ballad that really lets their voices shine.
One thing that caught my attention was "Woke Up in Tokyo." It's got Japanese lyrics and this heavy bass that's kind of... well, let's just say it's an acquired taste. But you know what? I respect them for trying something different. The album did really well commercially, hitting number one in South Korea and selling a ton of copies in its first week. Not too shabby for a debut, right? Overall, "DRIP" shows that Babymonster has potential. They're not reinventing the wheel, but they're definitely making some catchy tunes that people are enjoying. - Iris
