Review

When Warren Zeiders' 'Pretty Little Poison' hit the shelves last August, it felt like a breath of fresh air in the country music scene. I remember driving down a dusty backroad, windows down, as the title track came on the radio. There's something about Zeiders' voice that just grabs you and doesn't let go.

The album's got this great mix of upbeat tunes and heart-wrenching ballads. 'Weeping Willow' and 'West Texas Weather' show off Zeiders' range as a songwriter, and man, can this guy write! He had a hand in penning 13 out of the 14 tracks. The only one he didn't write, 'Inside Your Head,' was crafted by Lee Miller and Chris Stapleton - talk about keeping good company!

Ross Copperman's production really shines through, giving each song its own distinct flavor while maintaining a cohesive sound throughout the album. And let's not forget that guitar work - it's crisp, emotive, and perfectly complements Zeiders' vocals. The themes of love, heartbreak, and the struggles we all face resonate deeply. It's the kind of album that makes you want to call up an old flame or pour yourself a glass of whiskey - sometimes both at the same time. - Alex
