Review

Buckle up, you wankers, 'cause $uicideboy$ are back with 'New World Depression', and it's a fuckin' trip. These two New Orleans nutjobs have been sober for a hot minute, and it shows in their rhymes. They're still spitting about the usual shit - drugs, depression, and wanting to off yourself - but there's a new clarity to their madness.

The beats are still dirtier than a festival porta-potty, with 808s that'll rattle your fillings loose. But $crim and Ruby da Cherry are pushing their sound into new territory, like they've been snorting inspiration from Southern hip-hop legends. 'Us vs. Them' even throws in some jazzy shit that'll make you think you've stumbled into a smoky NOLA club at 3 AM.

Sure, some crusty old critics are whinging about the lyrics being too extreme or misogynistic. But what the fuck did they expect from a group called $uicideboy$? A fucking Taylor Swift collab? This album's like a horror movie - it's not for the faint of heart, but if you're into that twisted shit, you'll be grinning like a psycho all the way through its 13 tracks. - Carmen
