Review

Let me tell you about 'Wildflowers' by Tom Petty. This album is a real treasure, and I can't get enough of it. Released in '94, it's Petty's second solo outing, but don't let that fool you - most of The Heartbreakers are still jamming with him, minus their original drummer. Steve Ferrone stepped in to keep the beat, and boy did he deliver. Rick Rubin co-produced this baby with Petty and Mike Campbell, giving it this raw, unpolished vibe that just works so well with Tom's style.

You know, it's funny - 'Wildflowers' was supposed to be this massive double album with 25 tracks, but Warner Bros. got cold feet about the length. They trimmed it down to 15 songs, which is still plenty to sink your teeth into. The album's got this casual, laid-back feel that sets it apart from Petty's other stuff. It's like he's just hanging out in your living room, strumming away. And let's talk about 'You Don't Know How It Feels' - that track was everywhere, topping charts and getting stuck in everyone's head. Critics went nuts for this album, calling it some of Petty's best work. It's no wonder Rolling Stone ranked it as one of the best albums of the '90s and later put it on their list of greatest albums of all time. - Sienna
