Review

Holy cow, The Used's self-titled debut album is a total game-changer! Released in 2002, this bad boy is like a punch to the gut in the best way possible. John Feldmann's production really captures that raw, in-your-face energy that made The Used stand out from the crowd.

The album is a wild ride through the emo and screamo landscape, with tracks like 'The Taste of Ink' and 'Buried Myself Alive' hitting you with a perfect mix of aggression and melody. Bert McCracken's vocals are seriously impressive, switching from screaming to singing like it's no big deal. And don't even get me started on the lyrics - they're so real and relatable, dealing with all the messy stuff like personal struggles and complicated relationships.

What's super cool is how this album totally blew up. It went platinum, which is crazy for a debut! The Used also killed it on tour, playing Warped Tour and Ozzfest, and really making a name for themselves as an epic live band. This album didn't just put The Used on the map - it helped shape the whole emo and screamo scene of the early 2000s. It's still a total classic that fans keep coming back to, and for good reason! - Sammi
