Artist Bio

The Postal Service is an indie electronic pop band from Seattle, Washington, formed in the early 2000s by Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and producer Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel). Their debut—and only—studio album, "Give Up," came out in 2003 via Sub Pop, featuring standout tracks like "Such Great Heights" and guest vocals from Jenny Lewis. The group is known for their long-distance songwriting, mailing recordings between Seattle and Los Angeles. "Give Up" achieved platinum status, and The Postal Service briefly reunited for anniversary tours and a documentary, "Everything Will Change." Fans of Death Cab for Cutie, Owl City, and M83 will find a familiar blend of melodic electronic pop and introspective lyrics in their music.
