Review

"In the End It Always Does" is a real journey through the ups and downs of love and life. Amber Bain, the mastermind behind The Japanese House, really pours her heart out on this one. It's got this cool mix of classic instruments and modern pop vibes that just works.

I gotta say, the collaborations on this album are pretty sweet. Matty Healy and George Daniel from The 1975, Katie Gavin from Muna, and even Justin Vernon from Bon Iver all make appearances. That's some serious talent right there. And let's not forget about Chloe Kraemer's production - it's clear she and Amber clicked creatively.

The way Amber tackles themes like identity and heartbreak is so raw and honest. Songs like "Touching Yourself" and "Sad to Breathe" really hit home, you know? And "Sunshine Baby" - man, that's a trip. It's all upbeat melodies but the lyrics are heavy. That contrast is what makes this album stand out. It's not perfect, sure, but it's a solid step forward for Amber as an artist. If you're into indie pop with a lot of heart, give this one a spin. - Preston
