Review

'Forgiven, Not Forgotten' gives us a taste of what made The Corrs so special - that killer combo of Irish folk vibes and pop hooks that had us all reaching for the volume knob in 1995. The sibling dynamic really comes through in every track, with Andrea's vocals floating over those tight harmonies from Sharon, Caroline, and Jim. What totally sells it for me is how they weave traditional instruments like the tin whistle and violin into modern pop arrangements. These four weren't just playing music; they were bringing their heritage along for the ride.

David Foster's production (with Jim Corr co-producing) strikes that perfect balance between radio-friendly polish and authentic Irish spirit. You can hear it in how they transition from those toe-tapping jig-inspired numbers to more heartfelt slow burns throughout the album. The singles showcase different sides of their personality, and honestly, that's what made them stand out from the sea of mid-90s pop acts. This debut was basically The Corrs announcing "hey world, this is us" - and thankfully, the world was ready to listen. I still find myself coming back to this album when I need that unique Irish-pop fusion that only they could deliver. - Kaitlyn
