Review

"Where You Want To Be" isn’t some cautious sequel—it’s fuelled by a lineup shake-up that sees Taking Back Sunday trading comfort for brute passion. Fred Mascherino and Matt Rubano don’t just step in quietly; they give the dual-vocal approach and knotted guitar clashes a jolt of urgency that’s impossible to ignore. Producer Lou Giordano keeps things sharp but refuses to dull the raw energy, making every track twitch with tension and fight.

Angst turns into ammunition on songs like "A Decade Under The Influence" and "This Photograph Is Proof," mixing chaotic rhythms with lyrics that rip into self-doubt and busted relationships. The band pulls back on some of the emo melodrama from their debut "Tell All Your Friends" in favour of tighter, leaner assaults, proving that change can be a slingshot rather than a setback. If you reckon a band can’t grow by breaking, this record dares you to listen again. - Ruby
