Review

Superheaven’s "Ours Is Chrome" hits like a steel boot through a wall of fuzzed-out amps—loud, unapologetic, and dripping with that '90s grunge grit. Will Yip’s production keeps everything tight but still rough around the edges, the way good rock should sound. The record leans into apathy with an almost defiant shrug, swapping the darker ache of "Jar" for something more resigned but no less powerful. Tracks like "I've Been Bored" and "Next to Nothing" stomp through thick, chorus-soaked guitars that sound like they were scraped straight from an old basement show.

What really works here is the band’s ability to evolve without losing their bite. "All the Pain" and other cuts churn with that same grimy emotional weight, yet the record feels more alive—like they’ve found calm in the chaos. It’s gritty, it’s grounded, and it doesn’t waste time getting fancy. "Ours Is Chrome" proves Superheaven doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel—they just crank it until it rattles your bones. - Sydney
