Review

Sublime's self-titled album is a wild ride through ska, punk, and reggae, with a hefty dose of raw energy that'll make your head spin. Released in '96, this bad boy hit the scene just as the band's world came crashing down with Bradley Nowell's untimely demise. Talk about a bittersweet legacy.

The album's a chaotic mix of genres that somehow works like a charm. 'What I Got' and 'Santeria' are catchy as hell, while 'April 29, 1992 (Miami)' dives into some heavy shit with its riot narrative. And let's not forget 'Wrong Way' - that trombone solo'll haunt your dreams, man.

Despite the drug-fueled mayhem during recording, the album's a cohesive beast that tackles everything from love to addiction. It's no wonder this thing sold like hotcakes, even without the band to push it. Five million copies in the U.S. alone? That's no joke. Sublime may be gone, but this album's gonna keep their spirit alive for a long, long time. - Chase
