Review

Oh man, Stone Sour's self-titled album, released back in 2002, is absolutely a must-listen. Not only does it showcase the incredible talent of Corey Taylor, who was also a member of Slipknot, but it's also a beautiful example of versatility in music. The album offers a perfect balance of melodic hard rock and heavy metal, giving it a unique and exciting sound. You can hear the influence of bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden throughout the record.

The album is filled with bangers, but let me tell you about a few of my favorites. "Get Inside" is mind-blowing with its incredible drumming and powerful vocals. Then there's "Bother," a soul-stirring ballad that proves Taylor has the chops to create sensitive, radio-friendly tunes. And "Inhale"? It's got heavy riffs and catchy hooks that make you want to sing along.

You know what's also pretty amazing? The album got tons of praise for its diversity and Taylor's impressive vocal range, and it was even certified Gold in the United States! To top it all, "Get Inside" and "Inhale" both scored Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance. Stone Sour truly came out swinging with this one, showing that they've got the potential to create music that's heavy, melodic, and everything in between. This album is definitely one you don't want to miss! - Ava
