Artist Bio
Slow Pulp is an indie rock band originally from Madison, Wisconsin, now based in Chicago, Illinois, formed by Teddy Mathews, Alex Leeds, Henry Stoehr, and later joined by Emily Massey. They started releasing music in 2015, blending shoegaze, alt-rock, and bedroom pop, with a sound marked by soft vocals and layered guitars. The group has released EPs like EP2 and Big Day, and studio albums Moveys (2020) and Yard (2023) after signing with Anti- Records. Slow Pulp has toured with acts such as Death Cab for Cutie, Pixies, and Alvvays, and their work is often compared to artists like Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail, and Japanese Breakfast. Notably, Emily Massey persevered through health challenges such as Lyme disease, shaping the band’s creative process.
