Review
"Kostolom" by Slaughter to Prevail is a real headbanger that'll have you reaching for the volume knob. This Russian deathcore band dropped their second full-length album in August 2021, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride. The title means "Bonebreaker" in English, which is pretty fitting given how hard this album hits. I was blown away by Alex Terrible's vocal performance - this guy's got some serious pipes! He's known for his deep growls, but on this album, he really shows off his range, mixing in some killer screams and even some clean vocals.
What really got me excited about "Kostolom" is how the band mixes things up. They've taken their deathcore roots and thrown in some nu metal vibes, giving tracks like "Baba Yaga" and "Demolisher" a fresh sound that reminds me of old-school Slipknot, but with a modern twist. And can we talk about the lyrics? The way they switch between Russian and English is so cool - it adds this whole other layer to the music. If you're into heavy music that pushes boundaries and keeps you on your toes, "Kostolom" is definitely worth checking out. - Ava
