Artist Bio

Skullcrusher is the project of Helen Ballentine, a singer-songwriter originally from Upstate New York who later settled in Los Angeles. She began releasing music as Skullcrusher in 2020, gaining attention with her debut single "Places/Plans" and signing to the indie label Secretly Canadian. Her style blends introspective folk with ambient textures, channeling influences from both her background in piano and guitar as well as a brief interest in electronic music. Ballentine's notable releases include her self-titled EP in 2020, "Storm in Summer" in 2021, and the full-length album "Quiet the Room" in 2022, produced by Andrew Sarlo. Fans of artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Grouper, and Soccer Mommy might find her atmospheric, emotionally nuanced sound appealing.
