Review

I've got to tell you about Sir Chloe's debut album 'Party Favors'. It's one of those records that wrapped itself around my heart from the very first listen. Released in 2020, this collection of nine tracks took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I wasn't quite prepared for, but boy, am I glad I hopped on.

The album kicks off with 'Squaring Up', and let me tell you, it set the mood perfectly. There's this haunting quality to it that made me feel like I was stepping into Sir Chloe's innermost thoughts. As I moved through the tracklist, each song felt like peeling back another layer of vulnerability. 'Animal' particularly struck a chord with me - its driving rhythm and catchy hooks had me dancing around my living room, all while contemplating desire and control. It's that kind of complexity that kept me coming back for more.

What really got me was how the album seemed to shift gears halfway through. Suddenly, I found myself in the midst of more aggressive sounds with 'Wrath', and then 'Too Close' hit me with its experimental vibe. But it was 'Michelle' that really did me in. As the final track, it left me sitting in silence, processing the journey I'd just been on. Sir Chloe's voice throughout is nothing short of mesmerizing, and I found myself getting lost in the introspective lyrics time and time again. This album isn't just music to me anymore - it's become a friend I turn to when I need to feel understood. - Lexi
