Review

Well, let me tell you, "The Woman in Me" ain't just another country record - it's the album that put Shania Twain on the map and shook up Nashville like a tornado in a trailer park. Released back in '95, this little firecracker of an album blended country twang with pop shine, creating a sound that was fresher than a newly picked peach.

Now, I've been around the block a few times, and I can tell you that Shania and her then-husband Mutt Lange cooked up something special here. They wrote all 12 tracks together, serving up a mix of foot-stompers and tear-jerkers that'd make even the toughest cowboy reach for his hanky. That lead single, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?", well, it's got more sass than a barnyard cat, calling out cheaters with a wink and a smile.

But don't you go thinking this is just another country album. Shania and Mutt brought in some rock 'n' roll thunder, especially on tracks like "Any Man of Mine". It's got a beat that'll make your spurs jingle and your heart race. And let's not forget about the numbers - this album sold faster than hotcakes at a church picnic, moving 4 million copies in its first year alone. By the time all was said and done, it had gone 12 times Platinum. Now that's what I call making your mark on country music! - Rex
