Review

Shaboozey's third studio album, "Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going," is a killer combo of hip-hop and country that's totally unique to his style. Dropping on May 31, 2024, through American Dogwood and Empire Distribution, this album has some killer collabs with artists like Paul Cauthen, Noah Cyrus, and BigXthaPlug. Critics are loving it, with *Holler*, *Pitchfork*, and *Rolling Stone* all giving it major props. Grayson Haver Currin from *Pitchfork* called it "remarkably assured" and a sophisticated self-help journey in disguise, and David Browne from *Rolling Stone* raved about Shaboozey's seamless blend of country and hip-hop.

The album's 12 tracks are expertly crafted, diving into heavy stuff like heartbreak, depression, and even suicide, but Shaboozey still keeps things light with some catchy, feel-good tracks too. This guy knows how to balance raw emotion with tunes that'll get stuck in your head. No wonder it debuted at number five on the US *Billboard* 200 and snagged the number two spot on the US Top Country Albums chart, raking in 50,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. "Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going" is a fresh take that pushes genre limits, making it a must-listen for anyone into innovative sounds. - Ethan
