Review

"Naked" by Scarlet is like a big warm hug from the 90s - it's a total throwback to that juicy Britpop-meets-soft-rock vibe that was all the rage back in the mid-90s. This debut LP from the English duo is all about those crisp, polished melodies and heartfelt lyricism that had everyone tapping their toes. Tracks like "Independent Love Song" really stand out - it's got that perfect blend of acoustic softness and pop-rock energy that'll have you singing along in no time. And don't even get me started on "I Wanna Be Free (To Be with Him)" - the piano intro is so soulful, and then bam! Those soaring vocals come in and just tug at your heartstrings. It's true, the album can feel a bit polished and radio-friendly at times, but that's half the charm! Tracks like "Love Hangover" totally capture that late-night lounge vibe while still keeping things easy on the ears. Overall, "Naked" is just a total blast from the past, and a super charming snapshot of 90s alternative pop at its best. - Kelcie
