Ruth B.'s first studio album, "Safe Haven," really made a splash when it hit the shelves in 2017. Not only did it earn gold certifications in places like Canada and the US, but it also introduced fans to a seamless blend of Ruth's soulful voice and expert production by Joel Little and Mike Elizondo, not to mention Ruth herself had a hand in it. The lead single, "In My Dreams," sets you up for a dreamy dive into her melodic world, with tracks like "Dandelions" and "Unrighteous" really standing out for their catchy hooks. And of course, there’s "Superficial Love," which brings a bit of pep to the mix!
One of the real treats of this album is "Lost Boy," which fans might remember from Ruth's debut EP "The Intro." This version brings something new to the table while keeping the enchanting vibes of the original that caught everyone's ears in the first place. Ending on the title track, "Safe Haven," we hear Ruth’s vocals take flight in a beautifully sparse arrangement, highlighting her vocal prowess and rounding off a fantastic debut. It’s clear why this album won over both critics and fans, proving that the safe haven of debut albums can sometimes reveal a treasure trove of musical gems! - Bianca
