Review
Reneé Rapp just cranked the volume way up on her soul-search session with "BITE ME." Drenched in raw feels and audacious self-love, this album crashes through the standard pop playbook, winking sassily at the haters while rolling out tracks like "Leave Me Alone," "Mad," and "Why Is She Still Here?" Rapp’s signature lyricism drips with TikTok-level candor, offering messy honesty and boundary-breaking confidence. Whether you're doomscrolling late-night texts or living your main character fantasy, there’s something here for every phase of your glow-up.
Each song is like a confessional spammed into your group chat at 2AM—unfiltered, fiercely personal, with more sharp edges than a Twitter thread mid-drama. "BITE ME" doesn’t shy away from bold takes on sexuality and self-worth, leveling up from the emotional unpacking witnessed in "Snow Angel." Rapp slides between snarky quips, pop brilliance, and genuine vulnerability, managing to keep things upbeat without sugarcoating the struggles—a true vibe for anyone tired of faking chill.
The reception’s been a rollercoaster, with Rapp drawing both standing ovations and a few cringe-face emojis from critics, but honestly, the unpredictability just adds to her streaming-era charm. The upcoming "Bite Me Tour" promises even more candid high-energy, matching the album’s DM-blasting attitude. Whether you blast this album front to back or just dip in for the bangers, "BITE ME" firmly stamps Reneé Rapp in the pop world as fiercely real and totally unbothered by anyone telling her to tone it down. - Kenzie
