Review

Growing up, we used to have family cookouts down by the creek, grillin' up a storm while someone played guitar. It feels fitting to draw that memory when listening to Post Malone’s sixth studio venture, "F-1 Trillion." On August 16, 2024, Malone served up this country-flavored feast to our ears through Republic and Mercury Records, and honey, it’s got some legendary help along the way. Tim McGraw, Hank Williams Jr., Dolly Parton—the gang's all here, showerin' this album with a bonafide Southern sprinkled touch.

Clockin' in at a rollickin' 18 tracks and just under an hour, Malone slips seamlessly between heartache ballads and boot-tappin', rollickin' tunes. The masterminds behind his new sound—Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome, and Hoskins—work like skilled Southern chefs, mixing and matching just the right flavors. Critics have noted Posty's newfound joy in his music, and let me tell you, it translates dreamily on each track. This ain't just advisable listenin', it’s enjoyable as sweet Southern pecan pie.

Singles like "I Had Some Help" featuring Morgan Wallen are makin' waves, breakin' records left and right, if that don’t beat all! Dive deeper into tracks such as "Pour Me a Drink" and "Guy for That"—they, too, paint stories as vivid as a crimson sunset over the delta. While some might think Malone isn't pushin' the ol' envelope enough, countless others see this for what it is: a country journey done with sincerity and spiked with that Malone magic. So here’s my sip of sweet tea on this one—it rates somewhere deliciously between "hug-your-grandma sweet" and "diabetes in a glass." - Brandie
