Porter Robinson is an electronic music producer and DJ from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who started making waves in the EDM scene as a teenager, especially after releasing his Spitfire EP on Skrillex's OWSLA label in 2011. Over the years, his sound has shifted from high-energy EDM to more melodic and introspective styles, as heard on his albums Worlds (2014), Nurture (2021), and SMILE :D (2024), which explores pop-punk and hyperpop influences. Robinson is known for blending genres like electropop, synth-pop, and early 2000s rave, with a standout collaboration being "Shelter" with Madeon. He has played at major festivals and is recognized for both his innovative production approach and the emotional depth of his music. For fans of artists like Madeon, M83, and Flume, Porter Robinson offers a unique and evolving electronic sound.
