Review

Let me tell you, Pop Smoke's "Faith" is one wild ride. This second posthumous album is a real grab bag, throwing together drill, trap, hip hop, even some pop-trap and gospel for good measure. Tracks like "Good News" with that gospel intro, and "Tell the Vision" with its synth-pop sheen, really show off Pop's ability to blur genre lines. But of course, with a guest list this loaded, it's hard not to get distracted. Kanye, Pusha T, Rick Ross, Dua Lipa, Chris Brown... the list goes on. Some think it's too much, that the star-studded features drown out Pop's own vibes. But hey, can you blame them for wanting to be a part of this?

Despite the mixed reviews, "Faith" was a straight-up smash hit. It shot to #1 on the Billboard 200, making Pop Smoke the first artist to have two #1 posthumous debuts. Standouts like "Mr. Jones" with Future and "Demeanor" with Dua Lipa were chart toppers in their own right. Even the deluxe version, dropping on what would've been his 22nd birthday, had some real gems like "Questions" and "Run Down." So while it might not be perfect, "Faith" is undeniably a tribute to Pop Smoke's legacy and influence. A posthumous album is always bittersweet, but this one's got enough substance and star power to keep his memory alive for sure. - Sienna
