Review

"Without You I'm Nothing" is Placebo's second album, and man, it's a total ripper! Released in '98, this bad boy shows the band really catching their wave and carving out their own space in the alt-rock scene.

These dudes don't hold back on the feels, you know? They dive deep into all sorts of heavy stuff like love, heartbreak, and personal battles. But don't think it's all doom and gloom - tracks like 'Pure Morning' have this killer upbeat vibe that'll stick in your head for days. And 'You Don't Care About Us'? That's the kind of tune that hits you right where it counts when you're dealing with relationship wipeouts.

Placebo's not afraid to paddle out into uncharted waters either. They've got these wild tracks like 'Brick Shithouse' that the lead singer calls a ghost story, and 'Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth)' that takes a swipe at folks who don't give a hoot about the environment. Oh, and get this - they even jammed with the legend David Bowie on the title track. How rad is that? No wonder this album sold over a million copies and made waves on the charts. It's the kind of music that really shows how far these guys have come since their first album. - Derek
