Review

"Eyelid Movies" is such a gem of a debut album! I've always been drawn to music that blends different genres, and Phantogram really nails it here. The way Sarah Barthel's dreamy vocals intertwine with Josh Carter's guitar work is simply mesmerizing. It's like they've created their own little musical universe.

I find myself getting lost in the layers of sound on this album. The production is so crisp, and every element seems to have its perfect place. Tracks like "Mouthful of Diamonds" and "When I'm Small" are absolute earworms - I catch myself humming them all the time. But what really strikes me is how Phantogram manages to explore different moods throughout the album without losing their signature sound.

There's something so intimate about the way Barthel and Carter's voices blend together. Their harmonies give me goosebumps! And the themes they touch on - love, loss, self-reflection - they're so relatable, yet expressed in a way that feels fresh and unique. This album really set the stage for Phantogram's future work, and it's easy to see why it caught so many people's attention when it was released in 2009. - Erika
