Review

Peter Cetera's 'Solitude/Solitaire' is a fantastic example of an artist spreading their wings and soaring to new heights. Released in June 1986, this album marked Cetera's first solo venture after leaving Chicago, and boy, did he make a splash! The record is packed with catchy tunes that showcase his incredible songwriting skills - he co-wrote eight out of the nine tracks. I can't help but groove along every time I hear it!

One of the things that really makes this album stand out is its chart-topping hits. 'Glory of Love', which Cetera co-wrote, became a massive success after featuring in 'The Karate Kid Part II'. It's such a beautiful, uplifting song that never fails to give me goosebumps. Then there's 'The Next Time I Fall', a duet with Amy Grant that's just pure magic. Both these tracks hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, helping the album achieve platinum status. It's no wonder 'Solitude/Solitaire' became Cetera's most successful solo album, even outperforming Chicago's first album without him. Talk about making a statement! - Ava
