Review

Old Crow Medicine Show's debut album, "O.C.M.S.," dropped in 2004 and instantly caught my ear with its unique mix of bluegrass, rock, and classic American music. The magic touch of producer David Rawlings definitely set the stage, especially with gems like "Wagon Wheel" (co-written by Ketch Secor using a Bob Dylan chorus) stealing the spotlight. Plus, the guest appearances from Gillian Welch and Rawlings himself add that extra sparkle.

The tracklist is a whirlwind of moods and styles, from the foot-stomping energy of "Tell It to Me" and "Big Time in the Jungle" to the tender acoustic vibes of "Poor Man" and "Hard to Love." The band's chemistry is spot on, making every song feel alive. It's no wonder the album hit the top of the U.S. Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart and climbed up to 68 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums chart. If you're in the mood for something refreshing and rooted, "O.C.M.S." is a must-listen! - Ava
