Ocie Elliott's self-titled debut EP is a beautiful slice of folk heaven that I just can't get enough of! Released in 2017, this five-track collection is a perfect introduction to the duo's harmonious chemistry and heartfelt songwriting. Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy's voices blend so seamlessly, it's like they were born to sing together.
The EP kicks off with 'Down by the Water', and let me tell you, it sets the bar high for what's to come. But it's tracks like 'I Got You, Honey' and 'Raincoat' that really showcase their talent for crafting simple yet powerful melodies. The minimal production lets their voices shine, and it's honestly refreshing to hear such raw emotion in music these days.
Recorded at the Woodshop Recording Studio in Duncan, B.C., and mixed and mastered by Jonathan Anderson, this EP has a cohesive sound that ties everything together beautifully. 'Clear in the Eye' and 'Without You' are standout tracks for me, with lyrics that feel like they're straight from the heart. If you're a fan of folk or acoustic music, this EP is definitely worth a listen! - Ava
