Review

"Carnal" charges forward with a mix of raw force and sharp melodic instincts, pulling modern rock and alternative metal into its orbit while slipping in a bit of pop shine. Nothing More scatters five Alan Watts interludes between the ten full tracks, letting those reflective moments spark a thoughtful pause before the next surge. Themes of fear, grit, and endurance coil through the record, giving the intensity a real sense of purpose. The band leans into both accessibility and experimentation, refusing to sit still even when the hooks hit hard.

Eric Vanlerberghe and David Draiman jump in as guests, and their contrasting voices add an extra jolt of electricity to the album’s momentum. The heavier sections feel primal without losing control, while the more melodic passages cut through with surprising clarity. Nothing More threads these shifts together in a way that feels bold but still unified. As a whole, "Carnal" moves with a restless spirit, offering a journey that’s equal parts fire and reflection. - Karl
