Review
From the very first track of "Mi Vida Mi Muerte," I got swept up in Neton Vega’s bold energy and creative confidence. He throws tradition and fresh inspiration into the mix, serving up 21 tracks that stretch beyond the familiar sounds of regional Mexican music. One moment you find yourself in the middle of an infectious corrido tumbado, and the next you’re treated to splashes of hip-hop, reggaetón, and even pop. Vega’s willingness to experiment definitely made the album feel exciting and alive for me.
Vega doesn’t take this journey alone—he’s joined by some seriously vibrant guest artists. Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Gabito Ballesteros, Óscar Maydon, Chino Pacas, and Luis R Conriquez each bring their own spice to the mix. Those collaborations add just the right kick to keep every new song feeling distinctive, but nothing overshadows Vega’s vocal style and charisma. Songs like "Chrome Corazón" and "M&M" are great examples of his ability to command the spotlight on his own.
Beyond the catchy hooks and genre jumps, the lyrics on "Mi Vida Mi Muerte" really grabbed me. Vega taps into themes like ambition, hardship, and the wild joys of celebrating life’s twists and turns. It made the whole experience feel a lot more personal and relatable, reminding me why I love when an artist puts actual heart into their work. By the end, it’s obvious to me that Neton Vega is carving a unique path, and I can’t wait to see where his sound goes next. - Ava
