Review

Let's talk about Nelly's "Suit" album. Released in 2004, this project was a deliberate move away from the more energetic vibe of its companion album, "Sweat." "Suit" is all about maturity and sensuality, with a strong focus on melody that sets it apart from its upbeat counterpart.

The tracklist is fire, with hits like "My Place" and "Over and Over" featuring Tim McGraw - who would've thought a hip-hop and country combo would kill it like that? And let's not forget "Say" built around that iconic Spandau Ballet sample "True," talking hope and determination. The production squad was on point too, with the likes of the Neptunes and Jazze Pha bringing their A-game.

"Suit" got some major love from the critics, and its sales backed it up - three times platinum and a debut at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart ain't bad at all. Plus Nelly became the first artist to own the top two spots on the US Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart with this album and "Sweat". He was even up for Best Rap Album at the Grammys. All in all, "Suit" cements Nelly's status as a multifaceted artist pushing hip-hop boundaries. - Asher
