Review

"The Infamous" by Mobb Deep ain't your typical hip-hop album - this 1995 release is a raw slice of Queensbridge life that hits you like a sucker punch to the gut. Prodigy and Havoc, barely out of their teens, spit rhymes that'll make your hair stand on end. They ain't glamorizing the streets; they're giving you the cold, hard truth about survival in one of America's toughest housing projects.

The beats on this joint are straight-up sinister. Havoc's production is grimy as hell, with Q-Tip lending a hand to craft a sound that's pure New York grit. That Herbie Hancock piano sample on "Shook Ones, Pt. II" is haunting AF, setting the tone for an album that's darker than a back alley at midnight.

This ain't just Mobb Deep's show though. They brought in the heavy hitters like Nas, Raekwon, and Ghostface to add some extra flavor. The result? A hardcore rap masterpiece that changed the game. "The Infamous" ain't about corner beefs or petty squabbles - it's about all-out war, where every day is a fight to stay alive. It's no wonder this album is still considered one of the realest, most influential gangsta records ever dropped. - Livia
