Review

Mel McDaniel's third studio album, "I'm Countryfied," dropped in 1980 and really shows off his knack for traditional country music. You've got everything in there, from the foot-tappin' "Louisiana Saturday Night" and "If I Keep On Going Crazy," to those deep, heartfelt ballads like "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed" and "Ten Years Three Kids and Two Loves Too Late." And lemme tell ya, the title track "Countryfied" is pure gold, with McDaniel pouring his love for the country way of life into every note.

What makes "I'm Countryfied" special is how it straddles the line between high-energy tunes and soul-searching ballads. McDaniel's voice really shines through, whether he’s belting out one of his own songs like "Cold Hard Facts of Love" or teaming up with folks like Dennis Linde on "Goodbye Marie." Even if the album didn't hit it big, songs like "Louisiana Saturday Night" and "Right in the Palm of Your Hand" prove it's worth a listen. It's a treasure trove of authentic country that deserves a spot in any country music lover's collection. - Mia
