Review

"Megan," Megan Thee Stallion's self-titled third studio album, is a powerhouse of personal and professional triumphs. Released under her very own independent label, Hot Girl Productions, this album is all about rebirth and renewal, beautifully symbolized by a snake motif that slithers through its singles and promo materials. With bangers like "Cobra," "Hiss," and "Boa," she's not holding back. "Hiss" especially made waves, becoming her first solo track to hit number one on the *Billboard* Hot 100 and topping the *Billboard* Global 200, making Megan the very first female rapper to debut at number one on that chart.

The album’s got a hip-hop vibe going on for 52 minutes of pure confidence and self-acceptance. Think transformation—literally, as the cover art shows Megan emerging from a chrysalis, a visual shout-out to her own evolution. Critics were pretty pleased too, giving it a solid 67 out of 100 on Metacritic. And if you missed the Hot Girl Summer Tour from May to August 2024, you missed a heck of a ride! Plus, the tour was decked out with all sorts of cool merchandise and digital goodies. "Megan" isn't just an album; it's Megan Thee Stallion flexing her creative muscles and showing us why she's at the top of her game. - Hayley
