Review

When I first listened to Liz Phair's self-titled album, I was immediately drawn into its generally upbeat pop rock vibe. Its opening track, "Extraordinary," set the tone for an incredibly fun and uplifting listening experience. While "Why Can't I" is undoubtedly the biggest hit and often the main draw for many, I quickly found myself appreciating the depth of the album with underrated gems like "Rock Me," "Take a Look," and "Favorite."

What really struck me was how Phair managed to transition from her earlier lo-fi style to this more polished pop sound without sacrificing her indie roots or the blunt honesty in her lyrics. This album truly showcases her versatility as an artist and adds an enjoyable contrast to her discography. Each track seems to blend indie sensibilities with mainstream pop in a way that feels both fresh and familiar. - Elle
