Review

Let's talk about Lil Tjay's latest album, "222". This one's got a lot of depth to it, and I think it's his most honest work to date. The title itself is pretty meaningful - it's part of the "2" series he's been doing, but it also references the angel number 222, which is all about personal growth and relationships. Plus, 2:22 AM was the time he got airlifted after that near-fatal shooting in 2022.

One thing that stands out on "222" is how diverse the tracks are. You got "June 22nd", which is basically a detailed account of the night he got shot, and then you got "Stressed" with Summer Walker, or "2 Grown" with the Kid Laroi. It's like he's exploring all these different aspects of his life, from being in the hospital to dealing with relationship stress.

I think the features on this album really add to the vibe. You got YoungBoy Never Broke Again on "Project Walls", Jadakiss on "Hole in My Heart"... it's like a mix of introspective tracks and collabs that showcase his range. The production is handled by some big names - Ari PenSmith, OG Parker, and Smash David, to name a few - which definitely adds to the album's sonic diversity. Overall, "222" is raw, heartfelt, and genuine hip-hop that's gonna resonate with anyone who's into real lyrics and emotional delivery. - Asher
