Review
Lil Tecca is serving up more of his signature style with his latest drop, "PLAN A". This 18-track album is a cohesive blend of laid-back flows and melodic hooks, which is pretty much what you'd expect from Tecca at this point. The production on tracks like "TASTE" is definitely a highlight, with smooth instrumentals that complement Tecca's effortless delivery. The transitions between tracks are also on point, making the album feel like a seamless listen. Overall, "PLAN A" is a solid effort from Tecca, even if it doesn't exactly break new ground.
One of the standout features of "PLAN A" is the way it weaves together different tracks to create a cohesive vibe. Take "I CAN'T LET GO", for example, which features a guest verse from Don Toliver that adds a whole new level of energy to the track. The faster-paced beat and rock-infused sound make it a real highlight of the album. Meanwhile, tracks like "TIME & A PLACE" experiment with some more ethereal textures, which adds a bit of depth to the album. It's clear that Tecca is trying to push the boundaries of his sound, even if he's not always succeeding.
While "PLAN A" might not be the most innovative album out there, it's still a competent addition to Tecca's discography. The singles, including "Number 2", "Never Last", "Taste", and "Bad Time", are all solid tracks that anchor the album effectively. If you're a fan of Tecca's trademark chill yet confident demeanor, then you'll probably find plenty to love about "PLAN A". But if you're looking for something that's really going to push the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop, you might want to look elsewhere. Either way, "PLAN A" is a solid listen that's sure to satisfy fans of Tecca's signature sound. - Livia
