Review

Buckle up, metalheads! LANDMVRKS' "Lost in the Waves" is a sonic rollercoaster that'll leave you dizzy, bruised, and begging for more. These French firebrands have cooked up a spicy metalcore gumbo, throwing in hefty doses of hardcore punk and pop-heavy punk rock, with a sprinkle of hip-hop for extra flavor. It's like they've taken a sledgehammer to genre boundaries and built a mosh pit on the rubble.

Frontman Florent Salfati's pipes are the real star of this show, switching from banshee screams to guttural growls faster than you can say "breakdown." One minute he's channeling Chester Bennington, the next he's unleashing hell like a deathcore demon. The album kicks off with a one-two punch that'll have you questioning your life choices in the best way possible. But just when you think you've got these guys figured out, they pull a 180 with "Visage," a trap-infused curveball that's either genius or madness - jury's still out on that one. Don't worry though, they redeem themselves with "Say No Word," a rap-metal hybrid that actually works. Who knew? - Ace
