Review

Well, let me tell ya 'bout Josh Turner's "Your Man" album. It's a real treat for us country music fans. Released back in '06, it's got that perfect mix of old school country twang and modern sound that just makes ya wanna tap your toes.

Josh's voice is somethin' else, I tell ya. Deep and rich like good coffee. He's got a way of singin' that makes you feel like you're sittin' on a front porch swing, listenin' to stories from way back when. And speakin' of stories, he's got some good ones on this album. There's this funny little tune called "Loretta Lynn's Lincoln" that'll make you chuckle, and he does a mighty fine job coverin' Don Williams' "Lord Have Mercy on a Country Boy".

Now, I gotta mention that this album did real well on the charts, but that ain't what makes it special. It's the way Josh brings in some of the greats like Ralph Stanley and the fellas from Diamond Rio on that spiritual number "Me and God". And let's not forget the title track "Your Man" - that one's a real sweetie. Frank Rogers did a bang-up job producin' this album, keepin' it fresh but still true to country roots with plenty of fiddle and banjo. It's just a darn good listen from start to finish. - Mia
