Review
Let me tell you about Jockstrap's debut album 'I Love You Jennifer B' - it's a wild ride that totally blew me away! Released in September 2022, this record is a perfect blend of catchy pop tunes and mind-bending experimental sounds. I'm seriously impressed by how Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye manage to create such a unique vibe with their shared vocals.
The album's got some real standout tracks. 'Neon' and 'Greatest Hits' are these infectious pop gems that'll have you bopping along, but they're anything but basic. Then you've got songs like 'Concrete Over Water' and 'Glasgow' that take you on this crazy sonic journey - the arrangements are so complex and emotionally charged, it's insane.
What really gets me about 'I Love You Jennifer B' is how personal it feels. The lyrics dive deep into stuff like growing up and relationships, and I found myself relating hard to a lot of it. It's no wonder the album made such a splash, debuting at number 57 on the UK Albums Chart and even getting shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize. Jockstrap's definitely one to watch - they're pushing the boundaries of pop music in the best way possible! - Sienna
