Review

Hinder's second studio album, "Take It to the Limit," is a fun but familiar romp through the conventions of late-2000s party anthems! The riffs are punchy, the hooks are sticky-sweet, and the lyrics are...well, let's just say the guys aren't busting out any profound philosophies here, folks. But hey, if you're looking to crank up the volume at your next kegger, the title track and "Use Me" are surefire crowd-pleasers.

While rock purists might scoff at Hinder's lack of innovation, die-hard fans of this brand of no-frills hard rock will find plenty to sink their skulls into on "Take It to the Limit"! The band's musicianship is solid as a rock (see what I did there?), and they've certainly tightened up their act since their debut. If I were casting this album as a flick, I'd picture Steve Buscemi as the weary music critic, grudgingly admitting the tunes are catchy, while Jack Black plays the rabid fan, belting out lyrics in a crowded bar. It's not gonna win any Oscars, but it'll keep the rowdy crowd buzzing! - Gage
