Review

The opening chords of Dreamboat Annie feel like the start of a myth — thunderous guitars crashing into tender acoustics, all tethered by Ann and Nancy Wilson’s undeniable chemistry. This debut from Heart didn’t just mark their arrival; it announced them as a force balancing power and grace in equal measure.

“Magic Man” and “Crazy on You” burn with fierce energy — Ann’s vocals soar like a wildfire, while Nancy’s intricate guitar work dances between tenderness and rebellion. Yet between the anthems, there’s the ethereal title track, a soft, dreamlike current that reminds you Heart wasn’t only about muscle — they were about atmosphere, too.

Dreamboat Annie captures the wild freedom of the ’70s while carving out a uniquely feminine strength in rock. It’s both a love letter and a declaration — romantic, restless, and utterly timeless.- Emily
