Review
Well, butter my biscuit, let's talk about HARDY's "A ROCK"! This album's like a wild bull ride at the county fair - some folks are hangin' on tight, while others are gettin' thrown right off.
Now, Joey Moi and Derek Wells took the reins on producin' this rodeo, with David Garcia and Jake Mitchell jumpin' in the saddle for a few tracks. They've stirred up quite a concoction, mixin' country twang with rock 'n' roll bang. It's like they threw a hoedown in a garage band's practice space, and not everyone's sure if they should two-step or headbang.
HARDY's known for his way with words, but on "A ROCK", he's got folks divided faster than a church potluck. Take "Give Heaven Some Hell" - it's a heartfelt tip of the hat to a friend who's passed on, but some listeners reckon it's about as genuine as a three-dollar bill. Then you've got tunes like "One Beer" and "Hate Your Hometown" that have some folks scratchin' their heads, wonderin' if HARDY's been sippin' too much of that songwritin' juice. But don't you worry, 'cause this album's still been shinin' brighter than a new penny, earnin' itself some gold stars up in Canada and right here in the good ol' US of A. - Daisy
