Review
Alright, buckle up, because Half Me's debut album "Soma" is here to throw you into the deep end of hardcore and nu-metal in the most electrifying way. Kicked off with the fiery "Wraith," the album doesn't waste a second getting your blood pumping. You can totally hear the influences of Alpha Wolf and Architects as they whip these aggressive riffs into some seriously catchy melodic hooks. Trust me, when you hit tracks like "Distort" and "Proxy," the crushing breakdowns and those sleek electronic vibes are gonna take you to another planet, kind of like Northlane's "Obsidian."
Now, the second half of the album? Man, it’s like flipping a switch to total mayhem. Tracks like "Outbreak" and "I Am But A Guest In Exile" crank up the aggression but don't sleep on the atmospheric layers they build—it’s like getting slammed with a brick and then floating on a cloud. And speaking of range, Christopher Zühlke’s vocals are all over the place in the best way possible; from raw screams to clean, sweet notes, he's a versatile king. Each song is produced beautifully, so everything just *hits*. Ending with the self-titled "Half Me," the album does this super cool twist to a more melancholic and introspective vibe leaving you thinking, "did I just live through an audio novel?" "Soma" is one hell of an introduction, showing that Half Me isn’t just here to play—they’re here to dominate. - Madi
