Review

Greg Freeman really made waves with his 2022 debut album "I Looked Out". He smashed together alt-country vibes, the earnestness of indie rock, and the reverberating wash of shoegaze into this super cool sound. His voice is totally the star, with this raw edge that just rips right through the dense, dreamy soundscapes he creates. Plus, there's this awesome instrumental backdrop with a kind of trembling, twangy sound that pulls you straight into his thoughtful space.

The way "I Looked Out" kicks off, you're hit with this almost Celtic noise wave that's just the beginning of this wild sonic journey Greg takes you on. He's got these massive crescendos that come out of nowhere, hitting you with this lush sound—like the horns on "Colorado". Not every song is a shoegaze assault, though. Take "Souvenir Heart": it's got the signature screech of a distorted guitar, which adds layers to Greg's already rich tunes. This album isn't just a bunch of songs; it's like a habit you can't quit and something that hits you right in the feels. Greg Freeman? He's definitely one to watch. - Melody
