Review

You know, 'Making Mirrors' by Gotye is one of those albums that just sticks with you. I remember when it came out in 2011, and I was immediately hooked. There's something so special about the way Wally De Backer, the man behind Gotye, blends different genres together. It's like he's painting with sound, creating this beautiful tapestry of music that's both familiar and totally unique.

I've got to tell you, the first time I heard 'Somebody That I Used To Know', I was blown away. That melody is just so catchy, it's no wonder it became such a massive hit. But what really gets me about this album is how every song feels like its own little world. From the electro reggae vibes of 'State of the Art' to the Motown-inspired 'I Feel Better', each track takes you on a different journey.

What's really cool is that Gotye recorded a lot of this album at his parents' farm in Australia. I love that personal touch - it gives the whole thing this intimate feel, even though the production is so polished. And can you believe it went platinum in Poland in just 24 hours? That's crazy! It's no wonder it won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. This album is definitely a standout in the alternative music scene, and it's one I find myself coming back to time and time again. - Jennifer
