Review

I'm completely smitten with '13 Songs' by Fugazi. This compilation brings together their first two EPs - '7 Songs' and 'Margin Walker' - and honestly captures everything that makes this band so freaking special. Their blend of post-hardcore energy with those thoughtful lyrics just hits different. When I first heard the dual vocals of Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, I was instantly hooked - they complement each other in this perfectly raw, genuine way that gives me chills every time.

You can't talk about this album without mentioning 'Waiting Room' - that bass line still gets stuck in my head regularly! But tracks like 'Bulldog Front' and 'Suggestion' are equally brilliant, showing how versatile they were right from the start. What makes '13 Songs' stand out is how it manages to be aggressive and introspective at the same time. This collection really set the foundation for everything they'd do later, while being absolutely fantastic in its own right. If you're into alternative music at all, this is basically required listening! - Sienna
